Paris photo diary part 4: Disneyland

30/08/2012

On our fourth day in Paris we decided take a trip to the Disneyland Paris! First time I visitd Disneyland I was 7 years old, and this was my sixth time there! And everytime I enjoy it as much as I did when I was 7 :D No matter how old you are, the place is full of magic!

If you have any questions regarding Disneyland, please ask! :) I'm quite an expert ;)

Navy skirt with white & beige

Hame Mango, paita Massimo Dutti, bleiseri Zara, vyö Bijou Brigitte,
kengät Marc by Marc Jacobs, laukku Pieces

Oletteko muuten koskaan pesseet kotona mulberrysilkistä valmistettuja tuotteita? Nyt olen kiltisti kiikuttanut paitaa pesulaan (juu-u, ehdin jo sotkea.....), mutta olisi kiva tietää, uskaltaako tuota pestä kotona esim. Marseillen saippuan kanssa.

//The favourite office uniform! I finally found the silk shirt I've been looking for (from Massimo Dutti, Paris) and I like to pair it with the Mango skirt especially. Btw, do you have any experience in washing mulberry silk at home?

Last weekend of summer

25/08/2012

//Greetings from Central Finland! I sneaked here with my friends yesterday to spend the last weekend of summer (this is a yearly tradition to us). Though I have the craziest flu, I'm trying to enjoy this weekend and not think about the September lurking around the corner... Enjoy your weekend as well! ♥

Paris photo diary part 3

24/08/2012

Since me and my travel partner E have both visited Paris before, we didn't want to spend again hours and hours queuing to Tour Eiffel. But we wanted to experience Paris from above - it is an amazing city with it's beautiful houses, parks and monuments.

My parents visited Tour Montparnasse last time they were in Paris and they told us it was a pleasant visit with just a few minute queue and a fast elevator. So there we went and the views from the rooftop terrace (59th floor!) were unbelievable! And we were able see the Eiffel from there ;)

1. Me and the view
2. Strolling around in Marais
3. I felt kind of little...
4. Oh, the yummy treats of the day!
5. Streets of Montparnasse
6. 360° view and not as crowded as the Eiffel - great!
7. Some guidance
8. Coffee break at the Ladurée in Rue Royale

Paris photo diary part 2

20/08/2012

Here's some mixed pictures from days 2 and 3! Day 2 we spend some time in the museums before lunch and we visited Musée d'Orsay, Les Atrs Decoratifs and Musée du Louvre. Orsay is by far my most favourite museum in the world (though my secret dream is to became a the director of the Louvre) and we also spotted this amazing exhibition of Louis Vuitton & Marc Jacobs in Les Arts Decoratifs. Highly recommended! If you have any question about the places etc. you see, please ask! :) See also my tips after the pics! Here we go:

1. Thumbs up for Paris - Montmartre
2. Visiting Mona Lisa (seriously, I don't get the fuss... There are so much prettier/more intresting paintings in the world than that!)
3. Jardin des Tuileries
4. Have I told you I'm a huge geek what it comes to ancient history...?
5. Me trying to find us a great place to eat in Montmartre
6. I'm just posing... Wait, is there something worth seeing behind me?
7. Nike of Samothrace at the Louvre
8. Nice views (I tried to take a cool pic but the boy just wouldn't leave!)
9. Spotting some nice houses while chilling at Quai des Orfèvres
10. At Louvre

Few tips about the museums: EU residents under 26 yrs have free admission to most of the museums (ie all three mentioned before) and to some sightseeings (ie Arc de Triomphe, Château de Versailles); you find the price info from their websites. To most of the museums you don't need to que and buy a ticket, just show your passeport to the officer in the entrance. You can take pictures in the Louvre but in the Orsay and in Les Arts Decoratifs it's forbidden. If you don't want to wait hours and hours to get in to the Louvre (under the boiling sun - hooot!), try the entrance through Carrousel du Louvre (the shopping centre, entrance from Rue de Rivoli next to the Les Arts Decoratifs)! We did that and stood in line like under 5 minutes.

1. Ile de la Cité
2. Me on our way to eat to the Quartier latin
3. Arc de triomphe du Carrousel during the sunset
4. This lock reminded us of one of our friends... :D
5. The city of details
6. Les moules, yummy yummy!
7. Team... what team?

// Paris photos, finally! On my sixth visit to Paris we stayed in a hotel near Gare l'Est (10 éme), which was a perfect location in consideration of public transport as well as walking distances! If you have any questions about our trip/photos, please ask! :) Otherwise I let the pics speak for themselves...
